I've been thinking a lot about the small pleasures in life lately. The little things that I love and don't really feel right without, things I take an almost juvenile pleasure in acquiring, drinking, eating, doing... or whatnot.
Here's a small list of such things.
1. Cups Of Tea - I take pleasure in buying the cups, (They have to have a certain feeling about them), buying the tea, (there's few things I enjoy more than discovering new herbal teas or infusions), brewing the tea... and finally drinking it. A home is not a home without tea.
2. Books - Searching for almost an hour for the right books, buying them and reading them, preferably with a cup of tea. Even just looking at books I get pleasure out of. When me and hubby finally get a house we WILL have a library. A whole room, full of books with two nice armchairs and a small table in between the armchairs to keep our tea on. Nothing more, except a good lamp.
3. Candles - Especially scented ones. My favourite scents are cinnamon and/or strawberry. They just bring so much atmosphere to a room. I can just sit and bask in candlelight for hours.
4. Acoustic Guitars - Someone just strumming an acoustic guitar... it can be me, it can be my friend... it can't be my husband though. He does not have a musical bone in his body.
5. My cat purring - He has the funniest purr, and it's always nice to have him lay next to me, put his paw on my arm, look at me and purr.
6. Cooking for my husband - I love it. I love to cook food and then watch him enjoy it. I love cooking anyone food and watching them enjoy it, but especially I love cooking for my husband.
There are probably more things, but those are the ones that stand out to me right now.
